Therapeutic Potential of Oncolytic Viruses in the Treatment of Lung Cancer Caused by Chemical Warfare Agents: A Narrative Review
In World War I, sulfur mustard or mustard gas was used as a chemical weapon for the first time. Years later, during the imposed war (eight years of holy defense) against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq used this poisonous gas against the soldiers and people of Iranian cities. Many years after the war, many chemical veterans still suffer from its effects. Mustard gas is a strong alkylating su...
متن کاملInfluence of Gliding Arc Cold Plasma Based on Argon, Helium and Compact Air on Bactria Around the Wound: Experimental Investigation
Background: Today, the use of cold plasma and its applications have taken into consideration. The plasma is a mixture of active oxygen and negative ions. This compound has a practical effect on the elimination of all types of bacteria and viruses. The cold plasma feature is essential and very useful in disinfecting processes. In this investigation, we plan to study the effect of gliding arc pla...
متن کاملInactivation of Viruses and Cells by Mustard Gas
The action of mustard gas on six animal, one plant, and two bacterial viruses; also on bacteria, yeast, and the pneumococcus-transforming principle has been studied. The viruses include Newcastle's disease of chickens, equine encephalomyelitis (Eastern strain), feline pneumonitis (Baker), rabbit papilloma (Shope), fixed rabies, rabbit myxoma, tobacco mosaic, T(2)r(+) phage of E. coli B, and a S...
متن کاملCultivation Effect of Chitinase-Transgenic Cotton on Functional Bacteria and Fungi in Rhizosphere and Bulk Soil
Background: In consideration for the increasing widespread use of genetically modified (GM) crops, one of the important issues for assessment is the effect of GM crops on soil microbial communities Objectives: In this study, T2 chitinase-transgenic cotton (line #57) and its non-transgenic line were investigated for bacterial and fungal dynamics...
متن کاملStudies on vaccinia hemagglutinin. IV. On the effect of nitrogen mustard on vaccinia hemagglutinin.
Many works were made on the biological application of mustard gas and nitrogen mustard. The mechanism of the biological action of mustards , however, remains largely unknown, and many experimental results have been accumulated to, suggest its mode of actions(1) , among which much attention has been called to the analogy of its action to those of X-ray irradiation or of hydrogen peroxide(2). Her...
